At 31 December 2025 the Company had guaranteed bank overdrafts and loans for its parent and fellow subsidiary undertakings, by way of composite cross guarantees. Guaranteed borrowings for the Group were £10,919,000 (2024: £10,192,000) at the year end date. The bank loans and overdrafts are secured by a specific legal charge over the parent undertaking's freehold properties and a floating charge over all the other assets of the parent and subsidiary companies.
At 31 December 2025 the Company had guaranteed vehicle stocking loans totaling £15,393,000 for the Group (2024: £12,058,000), these are secured by an equitable charge on specific used motor vehicles and cross guarantees with other Group companies. A further charge is held over all other assets with priority ranking after the security given on the bank loans and overdrafts as described above.
Under a group registration the Company is jointly and severally liable for the value added tax with other Group companies. At 31 December 2025 the Group liability was £Nil (2024 - £82,000).
